The event is aimed at the CERN community and CERN Alumni and Retirees, therefore physical attendance will require having a valid CERN access card.
Arts at CERN
Join us for the presentation of In the Spaces Between, the first publication dedicated to Arts at CERN, the arts programme of the world’s largest laboratory for particle physics.
Over the past decade, Arts at CERN has fostered encounters between artists and scientists within the Laboratory’s uniquely creative and dynamic environment. This publication brings together essays, reflections, and visual contributions that explore the spaces between understanding and unknowing, between observation and imagination.
The event will feature a conversation between Dr. Giulia Bini, Head of Arts at CERN, and Mónica Bello, editor of the book and former Head of the program. The discussion will be moderated by Ana Prendes, publication coordinator.
What draws artists to the highly specialised space of science? What compels them to engage with the unknown within experiments and theoretical frameworks? The discussion will delve into the book’s central themes and contributions, inviting reflection on the shared understandings and creative possibilities that emerge when artists and scientists work side by side. It offers an overview of the unique landscape for collaboration and insight fostered by Arts at CERN.

The event will be followed by a Q&A and signing session, an apéro for guests, and the unveiling of a new production by artist Rohini Devasher.
The book will be available at the CERN Library & Bookshop.
